the village

access for every mother

At Project Village, my heart has always been clear: no mother should feel alone, unheard, or unsupported because of her circumstances.

As we grow, a core part of our future vision is expanding access to low-cost and no-cost antenatal education and doula support, particularly for families who face additional barriers to care.

We are especially committed to supporting:

  • Young parents, including those under 18

  • Asylum seekers and refugees

  • Domestic abuse survivors

  • Black women, who face significant maternity disparities

  • Women from racially marginalised communities

  • Low-income families

  • Mothers navigating pregnancy without strong support networks

Why This Matters

Research consistently shows that Black women and women from marginalised communities experience poorer maternal health outcomes and are more likely to feel unheard within maternity systems.

For asylum seekers, young mothers, and domestic abuse survivors, pregnancy can also bring heightened vulnerability, isolation, and uncertainty.

Access to clear, evidence-informed education and compassionate support can transform that experience. When a mother understands her options, feels confident asking questions, and knows someone is walking beside her, outcomes improve emotionally, mentally, and practically.

Education builds confidence.
Support reduces fear.
Community restores dignity.

What We Are Working Towards

Our future plans include:

  • Regular low-cost group antenatal sessions

  • Funded full doula support packages for vulnerable mothers

  • Free or sponsored places within every group programme

  • Partnerships with organisations supporting refugees, young parents, and domestic abuse survivors

  • Childcare provision to remove barriers to attendance

We are actively seeking grants, partnerships, and sponsors to make this vision sustainable and long-term.

A Village That Includes Everyone

Project Village began with the belief that when mothers are supported, families are strengthened.

Access should not be determined by income, immigration status, age, or background.

Every mother deserves to feel safe.
Every family deserves preparation.
Every birth deserves dignity.

And we are committed to building a village where no one is left behind.

Get in Touch

donations

If this vision resonates with you, we invite you to be part of the village.

Every donation large or small  helps create access for a mother who might otherwise go without support. Your generosity can fund a free space in an antenatal group, contribute towards full doula care for a young or vulnerable mother, provide childcare so a woman can attend, or place life-changing education into the hands of someone who needs it most.

For some families, this support is not a luxury, it is the difference between fear and confidence, isolation and community, uncertainty and informed choice.

When you give, you are not just funding a session.
You are helping a mother feel seen.
You are strengthening a family.
You are changing the beginning of a child’s story.

Together, we can ensure that access is not determined by circumstance.

If you would like to donate, sponsor a space, or partner with us, please get in touch.

It truly takes a village & your support helps build one.

Thank you!
